I can't really say I blame Nyjer. He made a clean play that hurt the catcher on Tuesday. He took the first beaning without even looking out at the pitcher. I can't blame him for stealing the bases either.

Volstad was just asking for it by throwing behind him again.

Morgan stoles 2 bases in the game the night before during the same inning while the Nats where up by 10+ runs and he could've slid safely into home the night before as apose to running down the catcher.

He deserved the clotheline for disrespecting the Marlins on the basepads alone i think, though Volstad was kindda out of line hitting the other batters during the game.

He stole the 2 bases last night while up 10. The night before, there was the collision with the catcher - a clean collision which happened to result in a season injury.

Would you have rathered him charge the mound the first time rather than steal 2 bases that really don't matter?

The 2 base swipe is the huge deal though, it's an unwritten rule not to steal bases while up by a certain amount of runs. It's very disrespectful.

Personally i don't like the intentional hit by pitch, i understand it's "protecting your team mates" but it's not something i'd do if i was a pro.

I can't believe the Nats just don't release this guy and move on.

He didn't deserve to be beaned though. It was a clean play at the plate.

After beaning him, the Marlins had one more unsportsmanlike play than Nyjer had, which in my opinion give Nyjer the leeway to either charge the mound. The Marlins should be happy he only decided to steam 2 bases.

What was the order of the a) play at the plate (which I think I saw and if so, it was clean- he was out, right?), b) the two stolen bases and c) the beaning?

1) Play at the plate on Tuesday
2) 1st beaning on Wednesday, takes his bases with no incident
3) Steals 2 bases after reaching on that beaning
4) Thrown behind, charges the mound

Watching the play at the plate video and Morgan had so much time to slide in safe, he deserves it.

I couldn't agree more.  He's apparently going to get a 10 game suspension today on top of the 7 he is already appealing.  The Nats should just send him home.  I mean they like Dukes go earlier presumably for less on field distractions.   The guys hitting .257 /.317 /.318 and he's been caught stealing 15 times so clearly he never knows when its the right time to run.

Morgan did nothing wrong. Hayes blocked the plate and a runner is entitled to knock the catcher over in that case provided he hits with his body and not his arms (which Morgan did). It's unfortunate that Hayes was hurt, but to throw at a player for a clean play with an unfortunate result is bush league.

It's possible (nowhere near certain) that if Morgan had slid he would have been safe. However, Morgan was running as fast as he could and saw a close play developing and the catcher blocking the plate. Furthermore, sliding into a catcher's equipment is inherently dangerous (just ask Derek Jeter and Ken Huckaby).

The person who really deserves to be suspended here is Uggla. He was not trying to protect his teammate, he was trying to hurt Morgan.

What did Uggla do? I couldn't see anything on the footage i've seen.

Apparently a night or two before the brawl, Morgan went out of his way to bump into another catcher. In fact, he was called out for leaving the basepath or something. He also may or may not have thrown a ball at a fan last week as well.
I'd rather have a sister in a whorehouse than a brother who's a Yankees fan.

Wasn't Uggla the first one to join in? Whoever it was, he came in swinging when Morgan wasn't looking and made it 2 on 1. He escalated things big time.

Yeah @ St Louis man, the clip is so dumb if you get the chance to see it...the catcher literally moves out the way for him so he can just gently run in to score the run yet Morgan just misses home plate and bumps the catcher for no reason, then get's given as out because pudge pushes him back to home plate.
