LOL saw this earlier. At least its better then him throwing the bat which seems to happen often to him.

yeah, saw that last night also...was very amusing.

Happened to Salty last season when he was throwing it back to Millwood, turned out he had a bad injury though.

Replays showed he was out...and it wasn't really a play where there was doubt. I really don't understand how, as an umpire, you make a call like that with 2 outs in the 9th inning with a perfect game on the line...AND THEN GET IT WRONG.

Galaragga gave the tearful Joyce the lineup card before the game started this afternoon.

Apparently Joyce and his family are getting much abuse...that's a shame.

His wikipedia page was updated to included yesterday as his date of death along with some anti semetic comments. Pretty disgusting people are takin this out on his family. This is not Joe West or CB Buckner or Bob Davidson, Joyce has been a very good umpire for decades. The guilt he will carry for the rest of his life is punishment enough.

I don't see any harm in reversing the call and making it official.

He'll always have a 28-out perfect game in my books though, but it would be nice if it was made official.
