Up to 221 innings now, with probably at least 6 starts left.  Looking at over 260 innings, before the playoffs even begin.

GC, SHO, SO, BB...all those catogries he leads right now in the NL and he's also tied for wins, if only that pesky 2.37 era came down some they'd be no arguement about the CY Young.

If the Cy Young award was actually for the best pitcher instead of the one with the most favourable circumstances beyond his control then there'd really be no argument.

Halladay notched win number 20 the other day, so for the voters who think 20 is the required number, he has it. Also looks like he is heading for the post season, another good looking thing for Cy Young voters. Hope he gets it and gulp, can't believe I'm going to say this but I hope the Phillies go all the way, ONLY because of Halladay, otherwise, I hate that team lol. But Halladay deserves a chance in the World Series.

definitely rooting for the phils, if only for DOC.  But also because they have the best chance of beating the Yanks... which is always a bonus.

They better clinch tonight - doc's already at 240+ IP.

They just interviewed Doc on ESPN, first time I've seen him talk in like 8 years lol. Anyway, they asked him about his innings and if they clinched soon, if he would want to take a rest before the playoffs. He said "honestly I don't know, I've never been in this situation before, but we have a good coaching staff and pitching coaches and I will trust their advice on this."

One, I caught the, "this has never happened before comment" with a bit of mild amusement yet sadness at our plight, two, I don't think those coaches know what they are doing, they are running him into the ground because well, he can do it, doesn't mean his arm will be ok in the playoffs or a year from now if they keep him working like that.

Roy Halladay doesn't strike batters out, he stares them down till they surrender.

There is finally something to look forward to in baseball in October for a Jays fan like me.
The Game: "They'll never sign both of those guys. They aren't THAT committed to winning. They only do enough to make us think we might have a chance."
