He's a legit prospect, would be tearing it up in AAA by now if it wern't for some injuries.

I agree, when I went back and read my 2008 draft review Thames was a guy I was extremely high on and he only slipped so low due to injury, just like Bob Bell (who should not be starting).

Of course, reading that always reminds me how I was pissed that the Jays took Cooper over Ike Davis.  So, vomit.

big deal, 5 years time Cooper might be a steady mlb player and Ike could be flipping burgers.

Hopefully Cooper will have a Ricky Romero like turn of events.

Baseball's best 1B in no particular order:

Pujols 6-3 230
Teixeira 6-3 220
Howard 6-4 255
Fielder 5-11 268
Cabrera 6-4 240
Gonzalez 6-2 225
Votto 6-3 229
Youkilis 6-1 220
Morneau 6-4 233

Cooper is 6-0 and is listed at a generous 200. He's tiny for a 1B. What did J.P. project him to be when he drafted him? Who was his big league comparison?

His big league comp was Lyle Overbay.  Seriously.
