Forgotten prospect Brad Mills pitched 6 shutout innings in a 2-0 win for Vegas yesterday.

Travis D'Arnaud also hit a home run for Dunedin yesterday.

He is in single A, but hasn't played a game yet.  I assume he's nursing some sort of injury.

Aherns is a 3rd bagger in Dunedin and he is unfotunately injured right now.

Anyone know what's going on with Moises Sierra?  He hasn't played yet.  I'm assuming it' an injury...wondering the severity of it.

Keep an eye out, and an ear open for Henderson Alvarez.  He's gotten off to a real nice start in Dunedin.

1-0, 0.64 ERA, 2GS, 14 IP, 7H, 1R, 1ER, 2BB, 6KO.

Not huge strikeout numbers, but he's more of a groundball guy.  90-94 mph fastball, a real good changeup...and still working on a 3rd pitch.

...and he turned 20 yesterday.

Also have noticed while doing the minor league reports that David Cooper has been completely unimpressive so far this year. Very cold start.

He's fitting right into that Lyle Overbay mold he was described as being.

It's too bad so many of them seem to be solo shots.  8 homers and 13 RBI's.  Can't anyone get on base in front of him?

Lots of good stuff yesterday, in addition to the Jenkins start:

Ahrens plays his first game at high-A and goes 2-3 with 2 walks (injured all year)
Arencibia has three hits including a homer.
Wallace with a double and an RBI.
Collins picks up a win at AA and still has an ERA of 0.00
Zach Stewart goes 5 innings with 1ER at AA.

Guys like Arencibia and Wallace need to come up and replace losers like Buck, Molina and Overbay. Enough of this crap already, fire Cito and bring up the kids--it's called REBUILDING, idiots.

And let Snider take his lumps, he can't possibly hit .125 for the year, can he? Jesus, can he?

Wouldn't bring them up to the "show" just for the sake of it at the moment but putting a whole bunch of the kids in AAA instead of a lineup full of older guys with bad defense would make a start (baring 2 or 3)

Is there enough a difference between AA and AAA to bother? I've never been sure but it seems that so many guys are brought up direct from AA these days that the two levels might be pretty similar.

It almost seems like AAA has become the land of the career minor leaguer/guy who gets sent down to work on his mechanics/mental game.

Sounds like a lot of postives yesterday.

Henderson Alvarez...he of the 2-0 record and 0.47 ERA after 3 starts is on the mound tonight for Dunedin.  I love the way this kid seems to be trending.

I am for letting Snider take his lumps here for a while.  Arencibia should be brought up soon if he keeps hitting. Release Buck and pair him with Molina.  Wallace, well if we can move Overbay in the second half then give him the call up.
