LottOnBaseball    Agreements extended thru 2012 in NH & Lansing. No word on LV and Auburn, although Auburn affiliation rumoured to be over. Jays own Dunedin.

Good to hear. I like New Hampshire and Lansing. Heck at some point soon I plan to make the trip to Lansing for a game or two.

Although not quite at the same level of A ball it sure looks like Bluefield will replace Auburn. Auburn's GM left and now Holmberg is gone so I'd expect the split to be made official any day now. Should be interesting to see what happens with the Las Vegas situation though.

I don't thinik that you will see Bluefield replace Auburn.  The Appy league is kind of between the GCL and the NY-Penn League as far as level of play.  My guess is that Toronto will affiliate with another NY-Penn league team and that announcement most likely will occur in the next week or two if I had to guess.

I am extremely happy and relieved that Lansing and Toronto have extended their agreement for another two years.  As the season was evaporating without any word of an extension, I started to think that Lansing or Toronto were in the process of looking at new suitors.

Here's to another two years!

I'm guessing we stay in Vegas at least one more year....that way, we can have Cooper, Thames, Hechavarria, and Mastro spanking it in AAA and we can all get carried away with their prospect status.

lol, yep, each of them will end the season with 70HRs and 180RBIs if they stay in Vegas all year, so while not an accurate picture of what they will do in the majors, it will look pretty awesome  :P

Jays finally made official that Auburn is no longer their short season affiliate after 10 years:

LINK

Looks like Vancouver is the new short season affiliate!

Link

Although its cross country I think its great the Jays have taken over the only Canadian minor league team affiliated with MLB!

As for the AAA situation its looking more and more likely that the Jays will stay in Las Vegas as their options continue to shrink...Houston looks like they have the inside track on Oklahoma City.

Well it's not London but it's certainly a good move in my opinion. Done right they can get the team some more exposure in Western Canada.

Back to Vegas. Houston has reportedly reach a deal with the only other available team in Oklahoma City.

Good times.

How much would it cost to buy the 51s?

It would make a lot more sense to just buy an international League team

i'm curious about the ownership of minor league teams. they're owned by private owners but all baseball decisions are made the big league team. why would someone want to own something that they have no say in terms of baseball personnel?
