J.P.'s been a beast in Vegas.

I'm excited to see if Mastroianni can turn his minor league success into major league success. Would be a nice 4th outfielder, maybe they could get him some reps back in the infield to give him some versatility.

Whenever my friend and I do our nightly farm recaps, this guy always gets mentioned.  Despite his age, they've moved him slowly, and I'd like to see him actually get to use his speed while he still has it.  The unfortunate part is he has Vernon Wells blocking him with an immovable contract anyways.  But clearly he can hit and is fast and deserves a shot.

To be fair, every AA outfielder deserves to be in AAA right now, although Thames should stay at AA. Calderone and Perales should be sent back to AA.

I don't recall saying he could hit major league pitching.  Also, saying "I doubt it" is quite the blanket statement and would apply to the majority of minor leaguers.  But I'm glad that you're able to back up your opinion.  Oh wait.

Pleas explain.

History shows that 25 year olds stuck in AA have a very poor shot of becoming good major leaguers.

Isn't he 24 and completely tearing up AAA?

Mastroianni is 25 by age group (an '85 in '10) and he's in AA with the F-Cats

History shows a huge majority of players drafted never make it to the major leagues.

You get today's obvious award.

And I don't think anyone has said Mastroianni will be a good major leaguer, but it's simply a matter of what you deserve based on performance.  Based on performance, he should be moved up to AAA, that's all.

Your claim (which you've now retracted) was that Mastroianni could hit major league pitching, making a need for address.

I haven't edited any claim, this is the exact line: "But clearly he can hit and is fast and deserves a shot." Again, never said he can hit major league pitching.  I allude to the fact he deserves a chance to do so based on current play.

Sorry, I thought we were talking about Arencibia.
