Would you have gone for it had you been New England?

I say this with the benefit of hindsight, but there's no way I would have. I would have made Manning beat my defence with a 60-70 yard touchdown drive in 2 minutes.

BB's massive ego finally got the best of him for a change! Hopefully this will humble him a little bit.
It was a stupid call no question, hindsight or not. You punt the ball and force the Colts to drive 70 yards, not hand them the damn ball on your own 29. Don't forget the Colts managed to go ahead with 13 seconds left in the game.....you punt that ball and do they make up all those extra yards and still have time on the clock for a TD?
At the very least it puts a heck of a lot more pressure on Manning to move the ball down the field quickly.

He wasn't the only one though...Jauron killed me when he declined the penalty and let the Titans hit a go-ahead 51 yard FG rather than push them back 10 yards out of FG range and trust the D to make 1 stop on a re-played 3rd and long!

No way I go for that if I am New England.  I know Bill Belichick has a good history on 4th downs but this was Peyton Manning he giving the ball to when he failed.

Pats fan here, you guys are gonna be set for a long time, you got our former backup in Cassel (who is outstanding) Charlie Weiss and Romeo Crennel, our Super Bowl winning assistant coaches and the best personnel man in sports in Scott Pioli, basically half the Pats up and transplanted to KC, this is why they are being called Patriots west lol. With all those good people, can't say I'm an enemy of KC, I wish them well, they deserve it but not when they play my Patriots  ;D Gonna be tough for both teams if they meet in the playoffs, BB knows how they all work and they all know how he works.

There renamed the thread so it could cover every year.

Seriously I don't understand Gary Kubiak and Marvin Lewis keeping their jobs. Yes I understand Tom Cable getting fired because Al Davis is involved and anything can happen with that loon.

Upset weekend is what it will be known as. Really crazy, 7-9 Seahawks over Super Bowl defending Saints? Jets over Colts? I guess the other two games were more evenly matched, but I was sad to see KC lose to the arrogant Ravens and maybe kinda glad to see the Eagles go down because they looked like the next bandwagon team. I really didn't think Vick, past crimes aside, was the NFL MVP and that end of the season collapse and first round loss proved it.

The Patriots do not have an easy road ahead. The Jets will either show up and be terrible or show up and be unstoppable, no middle ground for them. Then the Ravens or the Steelers if that Pats make it through, both teams have defenses from hell I would not want to face. However, I think the NFC is very weak overall and whoever in the AFC makes the Super Bowl will probably win.

Can't see nobody getting past Tomlins boys now.

Chiefs where in a terrible division this year clearly, the men from Baltimore dominated us.

Looks like both our teams went down fast Rounding 3rd, to bad, after the Pats I'd have rooted for the Chiefs as I like Matt Cassell and Scott Pioli. For the Pats, something is wrong with Tom Brady now that wasn't before. Old Tom Brady played average all season, then became a combination of Joe Montana and Troy Aikman in the playoffs. Now he gets on the field and looks dazed, terrified, confused? And for no reason, we beat every single one of these teams in the regular season. On top of that Belichick didn't alter his game plan after the first half when things weren't working, wtf? Belichick was a defensive genius once upon a time and here he couldn't figure out how to beat the Jets zone coverages, even after watching it for two quarters? Well I know one thing from studying history, if you are a world conquering general, like Hannibal Barca, eventually you fight so long someone learns all your tactics and uses them to defeat you, ala Scipio Africanus, who studied Hannibal then slowly destroyed his army with what he learned.

Maybe the Patriots time is definitively over, everyone knows what Belichick is going to do and Brady has for some reason, turned into Peyton Manning in the playoffs. Oh well, can't say I'm unhappy with 10 years of winning and three Super Bowls. Being a fan all the way back to the 80s, one of my first conscious memories in life was my dad and everyone in the house being mad about the Patriots losing. I didn't even understand what was happening as I was so young, but that what was the 1985 Super Bowl. As I grew, I saw them lose more playoff games and another Super Bowl, thinking we'd be Super Bowl losers forever so I will always cherish those wins.

Best memory is this one. That first Patriots Super Bowl win in 2001-2, I was watching it with my dad, when the field goal went through we both stared for a minute, like to make sure it was real. That there wasn't some penalty that was going to end our season like the late 70s teams or dozens of others. When nothing showed up, we jumped up cheering and hugged. He watched that team from 1960, attending games in Fenway Park and Boston College, in the cold aluminum bleachers of the old stadium, losing season after losing season, and finally, he saw them win on what was a miracle field goal kick. I will never, ever, ever forget that moment.

I think it's easy for everyone else to think of the Pats as some giant evil machine, but they do not have the history of the Cowboys or the Steelers or even the Packers, you know, a long history of winning for 30 or 40 years. No, they only have the last 10 years before that they were sad sacks, the "Patsies" as everyone mocked them.

/end rant lol

Their Kicker sucks, i've never seen such a bad miss...esp in a superbowl game.

What happened to Reed, did that guy retire?
