I love the moves this off season.  A complete turn around.  Added some great depth and more is on the way.  What I love about BC is, if he tries something and it doesn't work out he's not afraid to walk away from it.  His ego doesn't seem to get in his way and seems willing to acknowledge when something isn't working.

Love these moves.

As a casual fan, and I mean just checking the scores usually, it seems as though Colangelo really knows how to play the NBA market and use the salary cap rules to his advantage.  Hopefully these moves make the Raptors better, as then Toronto could finally have some team to make them proud.

Will these moves help the Raptors be a playoff team, and one that can actually go past the first round?

It’s going to be a rough start going by the projected results:

V CLE – L (no question)
@ MEM – W (hopefully)
V ORL – L (in all likelihood)
V DET – L (in all likelihood)
@ NO – L (no question)
@ DAL – L (no question)
@ SA – L (no question)
V CHI – W (hopefully)
@ LAC – W (hopefully)
@ PHO – L (in all likelihood)
@ DEN – L (no question)
@ UTA – L (no question)

Even if we assume the W's come to fruition (and all three could easily be losses), a 3-9 start is going to be tough for this team to recover from.

Well, the last time they started 3-9 they made the playoffs and won their division.
I'd rather have a sister in a whorehouse than a brother who's a Yankees fan.

The Raptors aren't significant better than they were last year. They might still make the playoffs as a lower seed, but we'll see.

I'll say they go either 5-7 or 6-6 in those games. But who knows, they might surprise us..or dissapoint as usual.

Why is Derozan starting? Also, why the hell is Bargnani playing the C position?

It will be extremely dissapointing if the Raptors have another slow start. It's bad enough the 2 other major sports teams in the city are laughing stocks.

4-8 or less seems reasonable in that stretch.

Colangelo is probably the answer to both of those questions.

Not to me. I don't expect much from this team. If you keep the same core of a 33 win team, a significant jump can't be expected.

A surprising result in the 1st game - but, since they started 3-0 last year I'm not willing to look much into it

I liked the way they played last night. Bargnani was full of energy. I really like Bellinelli's game. They blew a 20 point lead--partly with the help of Bosh's antics in the 3rd, but they still came out on top.

I liked how they're cutting much more to the basket. It makes staying in games much easier when you can stop the clock and get easy points. But, that being said, it's 1 game and the early part of the season tends to yield a good number of anomalies. I thought coming into the season that the Raptors were a 45 win team (with a ceiling of 50 wins). I'll stick with that prediction.

I don't remember seeing Lebron get played this many times on defense.
Farnsworth: Start the ship, Leela. Let's just steal the damn radar dish and get back to our own time.
Fry: But- But won't that change history?
Farnsworth: Oh, a lesson in not changing history from Mr. I'm-My-Own-Grandpa!

Great start to the season. I was worried they would blow this one but they fought off the Cavs to win.

Well after tonight's debacle in Memphis I feel pretty confident in stating that this is not a playoff team - even in the Eastern Conference.

That was brutal. They got outhustled and outplayed. They got massacred in the paint. I have no idea why Triano kept Nesterovic on the bench in the entire 4th quarter while Gasol and Randolph destroyed the Raps in the paint.

It's pretty safe to say that this team has not changed much from last season.

And there's the 41 win team I was expecting. It was pretty fun to be excited for a day, though.

Man is it slim pickings on the Toronto sports scene these days in terms of a winner!
Raps looked great vs Cavs, but then come out and lay an egg vs. the lowly Grizz.
Go figure.  :(

Too early to judge any team after 2 games.  This team is much improved imo.  Give them time.
