Caught the Watchmen finally. While I am not a huge comics fan I did enjoy, other than being a bit shorter, not much I can complain about.

I'll be seeing that one too.

Not sure what other big names we have this summer outside of Wolverine which I have no interest in seeing after the previews. Also Angels and Demons but I didn't last 15 minutes into the Da Vinci Code so I don't see me catching this one.

I caught Wolverine thanks to the worldwide workprint leak last week...pretty terrible flick.  It's not an epic eff-up on the scale of Catwoman, but it's certainly dabbling in Daredevil territory.  It's not just the unrendered CGI...it's the slap in the face stupidity of the dialogue and total disregard for how awesome Deadpool is supposed to be.  Since when did he become Baraka from Mortal Kombat?

Where The Wild Things Are is my next real must see.  I loved it as a child, and I've pretty much loved everything Spike Jonze has touched in his career.  The simple addition of acoustic Arcade Fire to the trailer made me weak in the knees.

Public Enemies looks good...Funny People should be a good go....ditto for Year One.  I think Quentin Tarantino is a gigantic hack so I'll skip the Basterds flick.

I agree with dunder, wolverine is not worth the money to see in theatre. I was going to start a movie thread, not so much for movies about to be released, but for a list of good under-rated movies for a night when you don't have anything to do, but can't think of a good movie that you'd like to watch.
Farnsworth: Start the ship, Leela. Let's just steal the damn radar dish and get back to our own time.
Fry: But- But won't that change history?
Farnsworth: Oh, a lesson in not changing history from Mr. I'm-My-Own-Grandpa!

I went to see I love you man last weekend. I liked it, but the theatre was full of (what I assume were) high school kids, and most of them seemed disspointed by it. A lot of jokes that I found funny seemed to go over their heads (I'm only 24, fwiw)

Aronld-less T4, should be quite interesting to see how much dinero the movie producer will fetch with the new "I Be Back"/batman actor, Mr. C. Bale.

I saw Sugar yesterday, about the dominican ballplayer who goes through one of those baseball academies down there and ends up playing in the States. Excellent movie.
A weird thing about it is that Jose Rijo is in it playing an instructor at the academy, and he was just fired a couple months ago from the Nationals in disgrace after it turned out that a player he had scouted and gotten signed was actually 4 years older than what he had claimed.
I'd rather have a sister in a whorehouse than a brother who's a Yankees fan.

Yeah, it's a newer movie that has made some waves at some film festivals in the past while.  It's an amazing film by the people who did Half Nelson a couple years back.  Hopefully it gets some wide distribution in the coming months.

It's opened in Toronto only at the Varsity, as far as I know. Maybe with it's strong reviews it'll get a wider release, like a lot of indies recently(Little Miss Sunshine, The Wrestler, Half Nelson, etc...)
